I like this quite a bit better. I am still not sure if playing snow is worth it at all. Astrolabe might be good enought to be played, also giving you the option of having Blood Moons in your SB. I think the Skreds are pretty bad in this deck and force you to make some bad deckbuilding adjustments with minimal payout. I feel like Bolt will be better 95% of the time. Sure, there are some creatures you would like to handle like Urza or Colonnade, but you will very seldomly have enought snow permanents to kill something like a Titan or random 5+ toughtness creature.
I would defenetly play some Urborgs, as mentioned in the article and go up to 4 Lilianas. You probably dont need that many plains, you are basically playing 11 colorless Lands in your double black double red deck (sure you can filter with astrolabe, but 11 is a lot).

@chris I’m the creator of this deck and the list up there is only a rough draft as the idea hit me as I was playing a match and thought it be disgusting but, I have worked on the deck and No, the budget was not a problem I just didn’t add it at the time but, if u want to see a more refined list I definitely have one. and here u go https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3067127#paper

Nice article! I think you did a good job analyzing and identifiying the problems the deck seems to have. Looking at the deck, its possible that budget was also a consideration when building it, as there are no Lilianas, one of the best cards in combination with Bloodghast, Lingering Souls and Smallpox. Also, snow-Decks tend to have cheaper manabases because they have to play more basics.

Hybrid decks usually work if both "halfs" either share some cards or have some cross-synergies. One of the best hybrid decks might have been Thopter-Depths (Darkdephts and Vampire Hexmage / Thopter Foundry and Sword of the Meek). There are probably a lot of decks out there that could be classified as "hybrid", but decks are still 60 cards that have to work well together, so I dont really like the term "hybrid deck" all that much.

I love transformational sideboard plans. The concept is similar to a hybrid deck, but you usually switch out an entire aspect or part of a deck for a completly different sideboard plan.
